Dear Neighbors,
The health and safety of our Lakeside Beach Community is the top priority for your board of directors. Due to federal, state and local orders regarding COVID-19, we are cancelling the April 16 Regular Board of Directors meeting. Our thoughts go out to all those who have been impacted by this unprecedented health crisis. Please continue to social distance, wash your hands, and wear masks in public. We look forward to the day we can all meet again and enjoy our beautiful neighborhood together. Take good care, Lakeside Beach Civic Association Board of Directors

Sincerely, Lakeside Beach Civic Association New Board Member - Jody Karr The Lakeside Beach Civic Association welcomes Jody Karr to the board of directors replacing Mike Roberts, who has resigned for personal reasons. Jody is the director of a non-profit organization, and brings a wealth of management and non profit experience to the board. She is also a yoga instructor, and has been teaching classes at the community center. Welcome Hill Country Homeowners Lakeside Beach Civic Association is in the process of transferring much of the administrative work associated with managing the subdivision to Hill Country Homeowners Association Management. Beginning in April, all invoicing, vehicle stickers, gate clickers, pool passes, resale certificates, architectural plans, covenant enforcement, questions and inquires will be handled by Hill Country Homeowners. We are still working through the transition process and all property owners will be receiving a welcome mailing shortly that explains how to access their website, pay assessments online, order clickers, etc. They will also be assisting us with two important projects: covenant revision and ongoing road repair and maintenance. We are fortunate to have their expertise and experience as our subdivision continues to grow and as we tackle the challenges that come about with an ever increasing number of new homes and residents. SPECIAL MEETING – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29TH (10:30am) Please join us for a special meet-and-greet meeting to introduce the management company that will be taking over much of the day-to-day administrative work for the Lakeside Beach Civic Association. They will also be overseeing two of our most pressing special projects: (1) Covenant Revision and (2) Road Repair & Maintenance. Please do not invite any more oak wilt into the neighborhood by trimming your trees during those months. WATERFRONT MUD Every year we have to remind people that the ground alongside the lake is extremely muddy and easy to get stuck in. Please refrain from driving your vehicles along the waterfront as the lake recedes. The Lakeside Beach Civic Association cannot assist residents in pulling out vehicles stuck in the mud. COVENANT REVISION COMMITTEE Note that the special meeting on Saturday, February 29th will kick off this project. Volunteers are needed to assist in writing, editing, making phone calls, preparing mailings, and other items. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please send email to [email protected] ROAD REPAIR & MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE Note that the special meeting on Saturday, February 29th will also kick off this project. Please keep an eye out for your annual assessment invoice, annual meeting notice, and election ballot in the mail. We will be working with the new management company on preparing all of these items. Look forward to seeing everyone on the 29th. Sincerely, Lakeside Beach Civic Association Mike Roberts (President) Rocky Grimes (VP - Maintenance) Jessie Iselt (VP- Security) Brooke Bulow (VP - Community) Karen Bruett (Secretary/Treasurer) Start your new year with yoga! See the front bulletin board for information - yoga classes to be offered Thursday mornings at 9:00 am at the Community center. Special thanks to Jodi Karr for offering her services. Christmas Party Clean up A big thank you to everyone who came to clean up the Community Center this weekend and put up the Christmas decorations! We appreciate your help. Tree and Brush Removal Many thanks to the volunteers who have been assisting Tony with clearing brush along the waterfront, and also helping to remove dead trees from the subdivision. If you want to help and get some great outdoor exercise, please let Tony or Rocky know. We can always use the assistance!
Before the year ends, we wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for a fantastic Christmas Party at the Community Center. Great food, great friends, appreciate all the volunteers who decorated and cleaned, and special thanks to BB Morse for the entertainment. As the subdivision continues to grow, it’s events like these that keep us connected as neighbors. This was one of the biggest parties ever, and also one of the best!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO PACK UP CHRISTMAS – Sunday, January 12th We will be UN-decorating the Community Center on Sunday, January 12th around noon. Volunteers are needed to take down the tree, box up the ornaments, put away the lights and poinsettias, and rearrange the chairs and tables. Bring your own beverages and we will order pizzas for the volunteer crew. EXCITING NEWS FOR 2020 –Lakeside Beach Civic Association increases owner support Over the past 10 years our little subdivision has grown like crazy. We’ve moved from a sleepy little lake-house community to a subdivision of full-time residents and families. In 2020, the Civic Association will launch a new relationship with a management company to help bring us into the 21st century and take some of the day-to-day workload off the board and our part-time employees who also volunteer much of their time. Working under the direction of the board, the management company will handle many operational details – including sending out invoices, collecting assessments, issuing gate clickers and pool passes, completing resale certificates, reviewing building and construction plans and investigating covenant violations. They will also have a website where you will be able to conduct all your Lakeside Beach business (if that’s what you’d like to do); and they will assist us in overseeing two very important projects – the Road Repair and Maintenance Project, and the rewriting of our Covenants & Restrictions. OPEN HOUSE IN FEBRUARY – Meet, Greet and Eat We are still working out the details with the management company and know there will be many questions. We are planning an Open House event in February (date to be determined) where residents and property owners can meet the management company, learn about the benefits of this transition and ask questions. Check your email and the bulletin board for the date and time after the first of the year. Wishing you all happiness and healthy in the coming year! And if you are in need of a few New Year’s resolutions here are a few we might suggest:
Our best to you and yours, LAKESIDE BEACH CIVIC ASSOCIATION POOL CLOSING – Monday, October 14th
The last day the pool will be open is Monday, October 14th. It would appear to be timed perfectly with the cold weather. The board is looking for volunteers to assist in revising the pool rules and enforcing them next year – please contact any board member if you would like to volunteer. HALLOWEEN – Thursday, October 31st The subdivision gates will be open from 4pm to 8pm on Halloween night. If you don’t wish to have trick or treaters at your home, please keep your front porch lights turned off. Thinking ahead to next year several families have expressed interest in having a kid-friendly Halloween party at the community center. Volunteers will be needed to help organize this. CHRISTMAS PARTY – Saturday, December 7th Doors open at 5pm. Dinner at 6pm. Music from 7 to 10pm. Ham, Turkey, Potatoes, Gravy, Tea and Lemonade to be provided by the Civic Association. BYOB and a side dish or dessert. Volunteers are needed to help clean the community center, set up and decorate, prepare food, and clean up afterward. Volunteers should contact Brooke Bulow at [email protected] It's been a busy summer ....
POOL FILTER REPLACEMENT Over the July 4th weekend one of the pool filters (the older filter) cracked and was no longer functional. The part was ordered last week, and will be installed on Tuesday, July 16th. Pool should be open on Wednesday the 17th provided there are no issues with the installation. (UPDATE - Pool should open on Friday the 19th) FISHING DOCK RELOCATION Fishing dock has been relocated after being in the "queue" for over 3 months to have it towed back into position. One of the cables needed to be replaced and a new anchor had to be purchased. Many thanks to Tony, Kenny and Rocky for their work on shore while the crew was here, and to Mark Myrick for assisting with tree trimming. ROADS/ SPEEDHUMPS Because of the rain, all paving companies are backed up with months of work. The company contracted to do the speed humps is no longer able to do our project, but we have reached out to a new asphalt company and hope to get this project back on track. They are still on at least a 3 week lead time. Many of you have asked about the rubber bumps - please know that we have investigated them and for many reasons have determined that asphalt is a better solution for the neighborhood. (UPDATE - Speed humps have been installed. Reminder: 20mph people! Thanks to Tony and Kenny for adding orange stripes to remind you) ROAD REPAIR DISCUSSION - Saturday July 20th 9am - 10am Please join us to discuss various options to begin repairing and maintaining the subdivision roads to minimize further erosion, and improve neighborhood safety. We will share cost information and solicit input from the Lakeside Beach Community. TUESDAY POOL CLOSURES
In order to keep the pool clean and safe, we will be closing it every Tuesday for cleaning and chemical treatment. A sign will be posted shortly and we apologize for any convenience this has caused. SENIOR SWIM Also, a reminder to those of you 55 and older - you can get your pool cards programmed to allow for access at 8:00am if you would like to swim before 10:00am. In addition, if you have difficulty navigating the stairs down to the pool we can provide you with a key to the side gate which is more level ground. Contact Kathy Doss ([email protected]) for assistance. Join us from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm on the Community Center back patio to pick up your pool passe, pay your annual assessments, get your 2019 vehicle stickers, and other Lakeside Beach Business. Hot dogs, chips and lemonade will be provided. Hope to see you there!
